Use this time to plan great green-seasoned lessons.

Cool ideas from the Google Form:

  • Plan the careers newsletter

  • Meet with Sandy about teaching Annie Dillard in DP

  • Look at my criteria C task for grade 6 as it relates to supply chain and CO2 emissions

  • Incorporate GS into TOK for DP students

  • Plan for a short and sweet interdisciplinary activity

  • Find poems and stories related to sustainability

  • Go through stuff and reflect and share reflections

Please Do

  • Discuss with a colleague and redraft after first plan.

  • Work alone, in pairs or in groups.

  • Check in and out in the Sheet above.

  • Feel free to move between this activity and others.

Please Don't

  • Do unrelated work!

Philosophers

There are three activities in this section.

1) Look at the five images below and discuss them with your partner/group. What do they show? How is this relevant to your role at Halcyon? How can you take action in response to the reflections you have here?

2) Have a quick read of this article. It includes a list of learning outcomes for a curriculum that promotes reconnection with the natural world.

3) Visit the jamboard and brainstorm ideas for learning outcomes you might add to such a curriculum.

Resource hunters

You're here because you want some teaching resources and ideas.

This is super hard for me to do because a) I don't teach your subject and b) I don't know what you want to teach about. That said, every subject-specific resource that I hear about through word of mouth goes to the teaching resources page on here. (That's a public document and people from other schools have added to it too.)

Paul Turner from MEE has also shared this goldmine with us which includes loads and loads of banks of resources.

Please use this time to research resources online and add them to the document. Even if they don't work for you, they might inspire a current or future colleague in your subject team!

Classroom Escapees

This is a pairs or ideally group activity. Start by reading through our shiny new sustainability policy:

Working together, respond to the prompts on the Miro Board. You can access it directly below, but if that's clunky open it here instead.
